What does the domain scan check?
βΎ
A full domain scan checks: SPF (email sender policy), DKIM
(cryptographic signing key), DMARC (enforcement policy), MX records
(email provider identification), employee emails via Hunter.io,
breach status of found emails via HIBP, and generates an
opportunity score 0β100. Results appear within 30 seconds.
How does the Google Maps lead gen work?
βΎ
Enter a business type (e.g. "dental offices") and a location (city, zip code, or address).
MSP Recon searches Google Maps and pulls up to 300 businesses with their name, phone,
address, website, and rating into your repository. You can also draw a custom polygon on
the map to target a specific neighborhood or zone.
Important: Google charges per result returned, not per search. Each
business pulled from Maps uses one of your monthly Maps lead allowance. Your usage
dashboard shows how many you've used.
How do AI briefs work?
βΎ
AI briefs are powered by Anthropic's Claude model and are included in every plan β
no setup or API key required on your end.
After scanning a domain, click β¦ AI on any lead in the repository.
Claude analyzes the lead's email security posture, breach history, email provider,
employee count, and revenue β then writes a 2β3 sentence prospect summary and
3 specific pitch angles tailored to that company's actual vulnerabilities.
Results appear in under 2 seconds.
How does breach detection work?
βΎ
Breach checking is included in every plan β no additional setup required.
Every email address found during a domain scan is automatically checked against
Have I Been Pwned β the world's largest breach database with
14 billion+ compromised records. Results show the breach names (LinkedIn, Adobe,
RockYou, etc.) and exactly what data was exposed β passwords, emails, phone numbers,
and more.
How do I generate a PDF report for a prospect?
βΎ
After scanning a domain, click the π Report button in the repository
or domain scan results. The report includes the full security assessment, opportunity score,
breach findings, DNS analysis, and recommended next steps β formatted as a professional
leave-behind document.
Command plan customers can upload their logo for white-labeled reports with their MSP
branding instead of MSP Recon's.
How do I add users to my account?
βΎ
Go to Settings β Users (visible to admin users only). Enter the team
member's email address, name, and select a role:
β’ Admin β full access including settings and user management
β’ Viewer β can scan, view leads, and generate reports, but cannot
change settings or manage users
Users receive a temporary password on first login and are prompted to change it.
Each plan has a user limit β Scout: 2, Operator: 5, Command: 15.
How do I set up Microsoft 365 SSO?

How do billing and plan changes work?
βΎ
Plans are billed monthly or annually (annual = 2 months free). You can upgrade at any
time and the new limits take effect immediately. Downgrading takes effect at the next
billing cycle.
To cancel, contact us at
info@thenetworkgurus.com
or use the contact form below. Monthly plans end at the next billing date.
Annual plans are non-refundable but access continues until the year ends.
How is the Opportunity Score calculated?
βΎ
The Opportunity Score (0β100) estimates how urgently a prospect needs MSP services
based on their security posture:
β’ Missing SPF β +15 pts (email spoofing risk)
β’ Missing DKIM β +10 pts (no message signing)
β’ DMARC = none/missing β +15 pts (no enforcement)
β’ Breached emails β up to +25 pts (10 base + 5 per breach)
β’ Email security score β up to +10 pts
β’ Other signals β tech stack, domain age, etc.
Higher scores = more gaps = more urgency = better prospect.
Sort your repository by Opportunity Score to prioritize who to call first.
When do my monthly usage limits reset?
βΎ
Usage counters (domain scans, Maps leads, AI briefs, reports) reset on the
1st of each calendar month. You can view your current usage under
Settings β π Usage inside your MSP Recon instance. Warnings appear at 70% and 90%
of each limit. Hitting a limit pauses that feature until the reset.
Is my data shared with other MSP Recon customers?
βΎ
No. Each customer gets a completely isolated instance β a separate Docker container,
separate database, and separate subdomain. Your leads, scans, and team data
are never visible to or shared with any other customer.
Is Google Maps lead gen included in my plan?
βΎ
Yes β Google Maps lead generation is fully included in every plan. There's nothing
to configure. Just click Maps Search in the sidebar, enter a
business type and location, and start pulling leads.
Each plan includes a monthly Maps leads allowance (Scout: 300, Operator: 1,000,
Command: 3,000). Your current usage is always visible under Settings β π Usage.
